At Toddlers’ Tyme we understand childhood illnesses are part of growing up. When there is a communicable disease affecting the children, we will post a notice. Children who are ill with a contagious disease may not attend the center. If your child becomes ill while he/she is in attendance, we will call you. The Director will determine if a child is too ill to remain at the center.
If a child is experiencing any of the following symptoms the Director will call a parent.
a) A fever over 100°F;
b) Contagious skin or eye infections;
c) Diarrhea;
d) Vomiting.
When your child is absent due to illness, please notify the center. Children absent due to a contagious disease may not return to Toddlers’ Tyme without a signed statement from a physician indicating the child is no longer contagious and can return to the center.
Toddlers’ Tyme will administer medicine prescribed by your child’s physician. Non-prescription medications cannot be given unless accompanied by a note from a physician. The medicine must be in its original container, which clearly states the child’s name, the prescribed dosage, the date and the doctor’s name. It will be dispensed only at specified times. All medicines will be kept out of reach of children. We will refrigerate those in a locked box that require it.
At Toddlers’ Tyme field trips will be an important part of learning. The child will have many opportunities to go on trips such as to the zoo, parks, police and fire stations, along with educational trips. Occasionally, there will be fees related to trips. We will notify you in advance of these trips. Parents are always welcome to join us.
